While working on these designs, I had the opportunity to watch several silent films, and I found my affection for the genre really growing. The stories, actors, and cinematography of early cinema found their way into this new collection. The shades of gray, the muted palette, the contrast of wild exoticism with rigid structure––these all sprang from a mind saturated with and creatively intoxicated by the glamour and mystery and simplicity of silent cinema.
